Newark

United Airlines confirmed daily direct flights between Luxembourg Findel and Newark, New Jersey starting April 2, 2027. The route uses an Airbus A321XLR and marks the first direct US connection from Luxembourg since 1999, when Icelandair last flew the route[1].

Newark Liberty International Airport sits about 20 kilometers from Central Park, making it a primary gateway for travelers heading to New York City. United is adding 10 new destinations alongside Luxembourg, including Valencia, Ibiza, Terceira, Marseille, and Toulouse.

The cheapest fare listed starts at $759. A lie-flat seat in the top category runs up to $4,785. Bookings are already open on United's website.

US Ambassador Stacey Feinberg had been pushing for a direct Luxembourg-US link for some time. New York was the original target, but Newark won out. Close enough.

Luxair briefly attempted a transatlantic route years ago but pulled it after roughly six months. The 1999 Icelandair connection was the last sustained direct US service.
