Three Days
The N4, which links Esch-sur-Alzette in Luxembourg to Audun-le-Tiche in France, will close to traffic in both directions from Monday 24 August at 6am until Wednesday 26 August at 10pm.
Although the N4 is a plain two-lane road, it carries heavy traffic, connecting Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg's second-largest city, to the border towns on the French side. Previous roadworks between April and May caused sizeable disruption in the area.
The good news is that these works, undertaken by the Luxembourg National Roads Administration, will be much shorter. Three days instead of weeks. A detour will be in place for the duration. Drivers are advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra travel time.
Whether these works will be completed on schedule, unlike the ones back in May, remains to be seen.
