Bottle Fight

A Saturday in Luxembourg City, told in three scenes.

Scene one. Rue du Fort Wallis, shortly before 5pm. A necklace is snatched from someone's neck. Police catch the suspect nearby. The prosecutor orders an arrest. The suspect goes before the investigating judge on Sunday.

Scene two. Rue du Fort Neipperg, later that evening. A second necklace robbery. This time, the thief distracts the victim by dancing before grabbing the gold chain and running towards Rue de Bonnevoie. Police circulate a description, detain someone matching it, and the victim identifies the suspect. Another arrest, another appearance before the judge.

Scene three. Bonnevoie, Saturday morning. Two men attack each other with bottles. Police arrive and recognise them: the same pair had already caused disturbances earlier that day. Both are drunk, neither complies with officers' attempts to calm things down. They are taken to the station, medically checked, and placed in custody.

Three incidents, two arrests, one bottle fight. A typical Saturday night report from the Grand Duchy.
