The Glacis

Luxembourg's beloved Schueberfouer returns on Friday, 21 August, transforming the Glacis into a bustling fairground for its 2026 edition.

While the official opening ceremony is set for 5pm, early visitors can already enjoy drinks from 11am, with food, rides, and merchandise stalls opening from 12pm. This year, the fair will feature a total of 214 establishments, promising a packed and diverse experience for visitors of all ages.

Several new features were unveiled for this year's edition, including four new attractions, a new food stand, and three new merchandise stalls. Among the highlights is Dr Archibald, Master of Time, a rollercoaster enhanced by virtual reality technology.

Other new rides include King Loop and Skater. Traditionalists will be pleased to hear that the classic Wilde Maus rollercoaster is making a comeback after an absence of over a decade.

Safety measures will remain unchanged from previous years. Authorities have confirmed that there will be no entry checks or other security controls.

Those hoping to save should look out for special discount days. On Monday, 26 August, the first family day will feature reduced prices on rides. A second family day takes place on Monday, 2 September, with discounts on food. The final day, Monday, 9 September, will also see special offers across the site, followed by fireworks at 10pm.

Key dates on the Schueberfouer calendar:

25 August: Mayor's Day
26 August: Family Day with reduced prices on rides
27 August: Queens' Day
30 August: Fair Sunday
2 September: Family Day with food discounts
3 September: Citizens' Day
7 September: Braderie (street market)
9 September: Closing day and fireworks at 10pm

214 stalls, a VR rollercoaster, the return of the Wilde Maus, and no security checks. The Schueberfouer has been running since 1340. It has outlived empires, plagues, and every economic crisis. It will probably outlive us all.
