4.1 Cents
Motorists in Luxembourg will face higher fuel costs from Thursday, as the price of diesel rises by 4.1 cents to 1.963 euros per litre. Heating fuel will also become more expensive, increasing by 3.9 cents to 1.454 euros per litre.
The price of petrol will remain unchanged for the time being.
This comes on top of the Economy Ministry's warning yesterday that fuel supplies are "tense", with low river levels, rail works, and the Belgian canal closure all pressuring transport routes. Now the prices are moving too.
Meanwhile, the National Health Fund (CNS) is alerting the public to a surge in phishing emails misusing the CNS logo. The scams tell recipients there has been an error with a reimbursement, or that a reimbursement is pending, and include a link to a fake profile page.
The CNS strongly advises never to click on such links, to verify the sender's email address, and to delete the message if there is any doubt. The presence of the CNS logo does not guarantee the email is genuine.
Diesel goes up, heating fuel goes up, and scammers are sending fake emails about reimbursements. The cost of living and the cost of deception, both rising at once.
