Three Arrests

Police carried out large-scale drug controls in Luxembourg's Gare district on August 3, 5, and 7, focusing on Hollerich Street. The operations were conducted by the judicial police together with officers from the Bonnevoie, Gare-Hollerich, and Gasperich police stations.

Three suspected drug dealers were arrested. Two were caught in the act of selling drugs. The third is believed to be a so-called bodypacker, a person who swallows drug packets to transport them internally. A scan confirmed the suspicion. All three were detained on the orders of the public prosecutor's office and brought before the investigating judge.

In a separate operation in Mondorf-les-Bains on August 6, police arrested a man subject to a European arrest warrant issued by the Portuguese authorities. He is wanted in connection with drug offences and has an outstanding prison sentence of two years and nine months to serve in Portugal. Extradition proceedings have been initiated.

On the night leading into Saturday, police were called to Differdange following a reported altercation involving several people. The situation was initially unclear, as neither those involved nor the precise location could be immediately identified. The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps later informed police that a man had been found in Oberkorn with stab wounds. His injuries are not considered life-threatening. The technical police unit has launched an investigation.
