As of Friday, SP98 petrol costs 1.898 euros per litre, up 5.4 cents. It is rapidly approaching the price of diesel, currently at 1.904 euros per litre. SP95 remains the cheapest at 1.689 euros.
The gap between SP98 and diesel has narrowed to less than one cent. For drivers who fill up with SP98, the increase adds roughly 2.70 euros to a 50-litre tank compared to last week.
In other news, Justice Minister Elisabeth Margue gave birth to a baby boy on Thursday. Both mother and child are doing well, the Ministry of Justice confirmed. Margue is the first Luxembourg minister to have a baby while in office.
Environment Minister Serge Wilmes and Interior Minister Leon Gladen have received delegation of signature authority while Margue is on maternity leave.
