A 9-year-old boy was last seen at approximately 3:45pm on Sunday at Lake Echternach. Police began searching around the lake from early Sunday evening. Officers on the ground were joined by a police helicopter for aerial search, the Luxembourg Red Cross dog unit, and rescue divers in the water.[1]

By 8pm, police said they were investigating every possible location where the boy might have gone. The search extended beyond the lake to the surrounding area, the town of Echternach, and to the Echternach Bridge on the German side of the border, where Luxembourg police officers were reportedly searching around 9:15pm. The rescue divers had come out of the water by then, but police, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps, and the helicopter continued.[2]
