Eight Fires

The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) were deployed for eight incidents overnight, including a forest fire in Haller. The fire broke out in woodland near the 'Haardhaff', requiring multiple fire brigades. A vegetation fire was also reported in Munshausen, while other fires occurred in Mondercange and Cruchten, where a compost heap caught fire. In Strassen, smoke from a kitchen required emergency assistance.[1]

A car caught fire on the N28 between Oetrange and Sandweiler, and authorities were alerted to a waste fire on the CR147 between Canach and Bicherhaff. In Dudelange, a pedestrian was hit by a car on Rue du Centenaire. No injuries were reported in any of the overnight incidents.[1]

Saturday also saw a series of accidents. In Rollingen, a fire broke out on a veranda at 11am, injuring one person. Three ambulances attended the scene, alongside fire brigades from Kaerjeng, Petange, and Sanem-Differdange. A motorcyclist was injured in a crash on the CR305 between Redange and Hostert. Another motorbike rider was hurt in a fall on the CR306. At 1:50pm, two cars collided on the A4 slip road towards the A6 to Arlon, leaving two people injured. In Cessange, firefighters extinguished a vegetation fire in the early afternoon.[2]

Another on the CR306. Two cars on the A4. A vegetation fire in Cessange. Four injured. The week of fires started on Thursday with two fires, continued on Friday morning with three, Friday night with two, Saturday with eight more and four injuries, and the week is not over. The ground is dry. The fourth heatwave arrives on Tuesday. The fires are not stopping.[1][2]
