Sixty Call-Outs

Police were called out more than 60 times overnight for scuffles, arguments, and noise complaints. In most cases, the situation had already been defused by the time officers arrived, or was sorted out on the spot, police noted in their bulletin on Saturday morning.[1]

Late on Friday afternoon, a disagreement ensued between two motorists on Rue Adolphe Fischer in Luxembourg City. The victim parked his car and stepped out, at which point two people got out of another car and struck him. The man was left with an injury to his lip. A police investigation is under way.[1]

On Route de Thionville in Howald, police received a report at around 3pm on Friday about a heavily intoxicated person behaving erratically on a bus. The individual was extremely agitated when officers approached him and could barely stand. He was escorted off the bus and taken to a clinic given his condition. He continued to behave erratically there and was later placed under arrest.[1]

Overnight into Saturday, alcohol checks were carried out in several places across the country, including the capital as well as Weiswampach, Troisvierges, and Wincrange. Some 341 motorists were checked in total, and 14 drivers tested positive for alcohol. In five cases, licences were withdrawn on the spot. Eight warnings were also issued for other traffic code offences.[1]
