Stolen Cards
During the night leading into Friday, police received a report about two people who had attempted to pay with a stolen bank card at a shop in Luxembourg City's Gare district. One of the suspects was stopped shortly afterwards by a police patrol. The second initially headed towards Avenue de la Liberte, but was later stopped on Rue de Strasbourg following a police search.[1]
When the suspect was searched, officers found several bank cards in their possession. Investigations revealed that the cards had previously been stolen from their owner's car after it was broken into and searched. The cards were seized and subsequently returned to their rightful owner. Investigations are ongoing, and reports were filed against both suspects.[1]
Two people, one car, several bank cards. The Gare district is where Luxembourg City's trains arrive and where its small crimes happen. The suspects tried to pay with the card. The card was refused. The police came. The cards went back to the owner. The reports went to the prosecutor. The night went back to being quiet, which is what most nights are in the Gare district, if you do not count the stolen cards.[1]
